New-to-You Series

This category is the book you picked that is the first in a new-to-you series. Here's your chance to pick up a series you've been meaning to start but just haven't gotten around to.
Having read it now, do you plan to continue the series or is one book enough?
If you have a blog, you can add the perma-link to the Mr. Linky below. If you don't have a blog, you can write your thoughts on the book in the comments section of this post.

Just finished BLIND JUSTICE )by Bruce Alexander), which is the first in the Sir John Fielding mysteries. I have no negatives to report as the book is well-written and involves a locked-room mystery. I'm not averse to reading another in the series, but because historical mysteries are not quite to my taste and because there are so many other books to be sampled, I'm not likely to read another except by happenstance.
SAVAGES, or SAVAGES? See my post about a Nameless Detective book by Bill Pronzini at http://whatchucksees.blogspot.com/
It is a concocted plot, actually 2 different stories. One is a murder, the other is questionable. The female characters are at different stages in their battle with cancer.
I recommend that you read at least one title in the Nameless Detective series. This was my first.
A CLUBBABLE WOMAN by Reginald Hill
I read the Dead Politician's Society by Robin Spano. It was set outside my country but I'd rather count it here in the First of a Series category. Very interesting story.
Allsion Brennan is a prolific and popular author but Love Me to Death was the first book I'd read by her. It was the first in her new Lucy Kincaid series.Enjoyable escapist reading, but a little too much romance for me.
Ian Hamilton's first Ava Lee novel is an exciting new series, published by House of Anansi's SPIDERLINE imprint.
I read Faces of the Gone, which is apparently the first of the Carter Ross books by Brad Parks.
Luanne, I had the same response to LOVE ME TO DEATH.
Neliza, FACES OF THE GONE is indeed the first Carter Ross book. How did you like it?
I listened to The Neon Rain by James Lee Burke. It's the first in the Dave Robicheaux series, and I can't believe I just discovered this author.
I'm kind of jealous, Rhonda. You have so much good reading ahead of you in the Robicheaux series. I'd like to go back and re-read them all.
THE SALTON KILLINGS by Sally Spencer. How grand to find another long series, doesn't happen often for me because I'm such a mystery lover and have tried many and kept at the ones I've loved. Set in England, well written, believable and interesting, with an ending that was unexpected but believable. Though was written a while ago, and didn't have today's items like mobile phones etc., it still felt fresh, good writing. I like finding these, and am ready for number two in series!
Sorry, I just saw this Naomi. I have told Jen a couple of times that because of her, I may never read everything I want to! She keeps telling me about all of these different books, and my "to read" list keeps growing :) Very thankful for that actually - and I love Dave Robicheaux.
The Big Grabowski by Carolyn J. Rose and Mike Nettleton. It's the first in the Devil's Hrbor series and I chose to start this series because I was able to win a character appearance in the third book at the silent auction at Left Coast Crime this year. I enjoyed the characters and the setting of a small town along the Oregon coast. The story drew me in, and I look forward to reading the others in the series, especially the one I get to appear in :)
Oops, my link text says A Corpse in the Koryo but my book was Down the Rabbit Hole by Peter Abrahams.
I read Track of the Cat by Nevada Barr. What a great series to discover! After the first one, I read half a dozen more throughout the year.
