I read Daniel Palmer's debut, DELIRIOUS. Hey, I'm halfway through this challenge and it's still January -- bet it takes me 11 more months to finish it, though.
Oops, I was supposed to include some more info, wasn't I? The author contacted me and asked me to read the ARC. The book will be released in just a few days. Thanks, Daniel!
The Poison Tree by Erin Kelly is a debut that jumped right onto Indie Bound's January one to watch list. I received an ARC from the publisher. I enjoyed it but it didn't wow me as much as other readers.
DELIRIOUS by Daniel Palmer
SANCTUS by UK novelist Simon Toyne is a fast-paced, smart, by-the-seat-of-your pants thriller that will have you flip flip flipping pages right through to the extraordinary conclusion.
Learning to Swim by Sara J. Henry. First time in ages that I've lost sleep to finish a book. I'll be very surprised if it doesn't get nominated for best first something next year. I found it from looking at the Debut Authors section of the International Thriller Writers website.
I also read LEARNING TO SWIM by Sara J. Henry. I look forward to reading more by her.
I read Before I Go to Sleep by S.J. Watson - was recommended by several bloggers so I picked it up at the library.
I met Tammy Kaehler at Left Coast Crime 2011 mystery convention in Santa Fe NM this past March, and instantly decided her mystery about a woman racing a Corvette was my choice for the Criminal Plots reading challenge (even though I would have to wait for August publication). Tammy was delighted with the novelty of this reading challenge.
A debut this year that really entertained and stuck with me, definitely, is LEARNING TO SWIM by Sarah Henry. Loved it, was one of the few that I just had to keep reading, to see what happened next! I read about this book in mystery magazines and my bookstore's Indie Picks magazine and am glad I tried it!
